Organizers of a possible Ku Klux Klan recruiting rally in Anderson have not contacted city officials, Anderson Mayor Thomas Broderick told The Herald Bulletin on Tuesday morning.

A rally is being promoted through fliers for Sept. 24 at the Madison County Government Building. The location is on county property and would need county approval.

RTV6 in Indianapolis reported that Imperial Grand Wizard of the Confederate White Knights, Richard Preston, planned to host a recruitment rally in Anderson. Preston is based in Rosedale., Md., and has been active in previous recruitment rally efforts in other states.
